Sphinx: In 1987 a Japanese team from Waseda University (Tokyo), under the direction of Sakuji Yoshimura carried out an electromagnetic sounding survey of the Khufu Pyramid and found SEVERAL cavities and tunnels. Rare images of this suggests there are several intricate entrances.
The largest and most famous is the Great Sphinx of Giza, situated on the Giza Plateau adjacent to the Great Pyramids of Giza on the west bank of the Nile River and facing east. Is located southeast of the pyramids. Although the date of its construction is uncertain, the head now is believed to be that of the pharaoh Khafra.
